In honour of International Women’s Day, Oakland’s College recently hosted an inspiring competition for female plumbing and electrical apprentices; an event designed to encourage more women to join the trades and to spotlight the emerging generation of skilled professionals. The power of collaboration was on full display, with charities like Band of Builders (dedicated to supporting trades workers in need), Fix Radio (interviewing participants to share success stories) and innovators such as Aladdin (showcasing new plumbing and heating inventions) all attending.
Equipping Apprentices for Success
To help these future experts hit the ground running, Help me Fix is donating its software to female apprentices throughout their first year on the job.
